Saving By Shaving

In the past 11 years, more than 10,000 people have participated in the “Saving by Shaving” event by shaving their heads and donating their hair. Over the years the event has raised $55 million for charitable organizations.

For each person who shaved their head or donated at least 8 inches of their hair, Granite donated $2,500, which was matched dollar for dollar by the Hale family, for a total of $5,000 per head. The money raised goes to pediatric research and treatments for The Every Child Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Be advised that the Hale family does not request or distribute funding through email or the internet, nor does it request personal or other confidential information.

If you have doubts concerning the authenticity of any communications claiming to be from or associated with Robert Hale, Granite Telecommunications, LLC, or related Hale family entities, please email legal@granitenet.com. This notifies us of potentially fraudulent activity, allowing us to investigate and take corrective action if deemed necessary. Keep in mind that due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we may not respond to every notice.

It is unfortunately the case that scams taking advantage of the Hale family’s philanthropic efforts have been increasing in frequency, and some of these fraudulent schemes can be highly sophisticated. Despite the tireless efforts of our security team and law enforcement to put an end to such scams, the reality is that not all of them can be prevented.

Be advised that Robert Hale and the Hale Family, Granite Telecommunications, LLC, Granite Gives Back, LLC, FoxRock Properties LLC, FoxRock Cares, their employees, grantees, or partner organizations do not:

Request administrative fees for awarding a grant
Host internet lotteries or offer prizes of any kind through email, postal mail, telephone, fax, or in person
Request registration fees for conferences or summits
Request information about bank accounts or other private information
Have memberships or request fees for memberships
Approach individuals in person offering grant opportunities
Solicit donations at any time*
Offer investment opportunities
