Granite Cares About Community
Our corporate culture embraces a community of diversity, and our approach to giving back to the community supports a wide range of causes and organizations. Granite is the flagship sponsor of the Massachusetts Soldiers Legacy Fund. The Fund is a non-profit organization that seeks to honor fallen Massachusetts servicemen and women by helping to defray the costs of their children’s college education.
Granite employees are also encouraged to participate in various charitable and community outreach activities including, “jeans days” on which employees can wear jeans and T-shirts with a $3 donation, and our tradition of providing Christmas trees and holiday gifts to ten deserving local families. In 2009, Granite Telecommunications donated $85,157 to several charities from employees participating in “jeans days”.
Our marquee event is our annual Granite Day where Granite Telecommunications hosts a free day of fun and food to the local community families, while raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. In 2009, Granite Telecommunications raised $150,000 and we hope to surpass last years contributions for our 8th Granite Day in June, 2010.
